How to Add Personality to a Space – ORC Week 4
Well hey there! I wish I could say the master bathroom is done and we just have to work on some details but we are FAR FAR FAR from the finish line! With that said, this week was a pivotal week, however. I’ll share with you what we did to add personality to our space.

What is the One Room Challenge?
If you’re new here, welcome! I’m Tasha and we’re in the middle of this One Room Challenge. You can read more about me and this blog here. The One Room Challenge is a six week challenge to completely revamp a space in your home. I am privileged to be participating with hundreds of other talented bloggers/designers.

In case you’re just getting here, here are the posts from the rest of the weeks.
Week 1 – Design Plan and Before Pictures
Week 2 – How to Remove Backsplash Tile and Replace Drywall
This week has not been easy
So this week has been hard. As I mentioned last week, I painted the cabinets but the paint color turned out all wrong. They turned out much more baby blue than we originally planned.

So we ordered new paint and it’s hopefully going to arrive today so I can start cracking on that. Here is the color I ordered. I’m hoping it will be the right grayish-blue that we were planning on. If not, I guess we’d go to plan C.

Adding Personality to Your Space
Ok, let’s get into the meat of things. So, even though this week went differently than we had planned, we actually started to add personality to this master bathroom. First thing’s first, let’s take a look at this stencil!

I mean … wowza! She’s a beaut, isn’t she? I took this stencil from the vanity all the way up to the ceiling. It makes the room feel taller and gives the feeling that there is tile behind the vanity. The geometric pattern and fun colors really inject our personality without being too overwhelming because it’s just in this one space.
Another way we add personality to our spaces is through DIY art. Art can be incredibly expensive and, although I love it and wish I could support so many artists out there, we just don’t have the budget for it. So, when you don’t have the right budget, you DIY it. Here’s the art I created for this space.

I’m so incredibly happy with how it turned out. Now, I did use someone else’s piece as inspiration so I cannot take credit for the idea but I love the minimalist lines and bright colors.
Hopefully this week, we can make some huge progress on our to do list.
What’s Left to Do:
- Re-paint cabinets
- Paint floor
Paint stencil feature wall- Install fixtures
DIY art- Build shelves for above toilet
- Style

Yikes! That’s a lot! Send all the caffeine this way! Hope you have an amazing week and happy creating!

Love the pattern you’ve got on the wall! Excited to see how it turns out.
Thank you so much, Ariel! I can’t wait to reveal the whole space next week!
