Kitchen Remodel – The Shopping List – ORC Week 3

Hey everybody, we’re about halfway through the One Room Challenge and about halfway done with the remodel so we’re on schedule. If you missed week 1, here’s the plan for the space and how the space looked when we started. And in week 2, I shared the complete demolition process and how the space has been completely opened up to the living room. This week, I’m sharing our kitchen remodel shopping list.

While there’s not a ton visually to share this week, it has been a productive week as our contractors have completely finished the electrical and plumbing for our kitchen. Now we wait for the drywall installer to become available to scrape the popcorn ceilings and patch any walls as needed.

Since I don’t have a lot to show you, I thought I’d share my shopping list for the space. From tile to appliances to light fixtures, this is your one stop shop to get a similar look.

fridge | dishwasher | range | microwave | range hood

The Home Depot is having a major sale on appliances this weekend. If you’re in need, now’s a good time to shop!

sink | faucet | air switch | garbage disposal

One of the things you might not realize you’ll need is an air switch. This is the countertop button for your garbage disposal if you’re unable to have a switch on the wall. They have a really clean look and ours matches seamlessly with our faucet. Also, this faucet is tall and grand and super beautiful. I can’t wait to show it to you in a video on Instagram stories.

And speaking of beautiful, let’s talk about this sink! I always wanted a porcelain looking sink but didn’t want one that wasn’t going to be durable. We found this porcelain-enameled stainless steel sink. It has the look and feel of porcelain and the durability of a stainless steel. We’re excited to use it and let you know how it wears with a busy family. Let’s hope well because it’s not easy to switch out an under mount sink.

tile | Cabinet paint color: Thai Basil by Behr | Cabinet Hardware | light fixture

This is the best section, am I right? This tile is going to be the first thing you see as you walk up our entry stairs and what a statement it’s going to be! I’m hoping to do a random pattern that feels effortless yet still chic. We’re playing with a lot of circle shapes in this space as you can see from the tile, globe pendant lights, and the cabinet hardware. The original 70’s globe lights we have in our home was a huge inspiration for me. We’re going to be using those originals and I think they’re going to be the perfect jewelry to our beautiful kitchen.

Well, that’s all for this week. Hopefully next week I’ll have more to show you. Are you participating in the One Room Challenge or know someone who is? Drop their blog name in the comments below so I can check our their project and give them some love!
